Editorial policy

Calculators and guides are written to explain arithmetic, not to sell a loan.

Who writes this

Content is published by the Finance Calculator Pro team. We do not list a named author, license, or “years in the industry” on these pages until a real person supplies those facts. Attribution stays with the team on the about page. We will not invent a bio.

What we publish

Each calculator page states how the tool works, the formula, a worked example that uses the same math as the code, assumptions and limits, and an FAQ. Guides expand those topics and link back to the tools. We do not fabricate statistics, approval rates, or “typical” savings percentages. If a number is not the output of a stated example or a cited primary source, it does not appear as a fact.

Sources

When we cite a definition or a rule, we link a primary source we have fetched: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau pages, the Homeowners Protection Act (12 U.S.C. 4901 et seq.), Fannie Mae’s Selling Guide homepage, IRS publications and contribution-limit pages, FRED series, the Federal Reserve H.15 release, VA residual-income rules in 38 CFR 36.4340, and the FTC endorsement guides (16 CFR Part 255). We do not cite Ask CFPB URLs that remap to a different article. Market commentary and unattributed blogs are not used as authorities.

Math and review

Payment, amortization, refinance, affordability, payoff, loan, and retirement functions are covered by unit tests. The methodology page summarizes the formulas. A change that alters a result should update the tests and the worked example on the matching page.

Independence and updates

Editorial copy is not written by an advertiser. If the site later shows ads or affiliate links, those relationships are described on the affiliate disclosure. We will correct factual errors when we learn of them; email hello@finance-calculator-pro.com. Corrections are not a promise of continuous monitoring.
